NNHS 1961 “TYPHOONS”
NOTE: A new date has been set for our 50th reunion - May 4th, 5th, and 6th. Put it on your calendar now.
We plan to keep the activities as close to those originally scheduled as possible. Saturday night will be at the Mariners Museum. More information on other events to follow.
The Newport News High School Class of 1961 held Part 1 of our 50th reunion as planned on Friday evening, August 26th. Because Hurricane Irene visited us on Saturday and Sunday, we had to postpone the rest of the weekend. We are now planning for a Reunion Part 2 so that all of us can participate in the events that were cancelled.
The new schedule of events is listed below:
· Friday, May 4, 2012 an informal supper will be hosted again by Libby and Buddy David starting at 6:30 p.m. at their home 118 Parkway Drive, Newport News, Va.
· Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. -12:30, a bus tour of the old neighborhoods and NNHS. The bus tour will start and end at Mike's Place, a restaurant where we can have lunch together (dutch treat).
· Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 6:30 p.m.- 11:00 p.m., dinner, program and social at the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News. (Main Entrance)
NOTE: A tour of the Museums Monitor exhibit (world class exhibit on the iron clad ships of the Civil War) and the Crabtree collection (incredible miniature model ships) will be available between 5:15 and 6:30. If you are interested in taking this tour, enter at main entrance and gather in lobby at 5:15.
